Cervical Cancer Day on the Hill. In 2010, Tamika & Friends begins a new tradition of going to Washington, D.C., to meet with their elected representatives regarding cervical cancer awareness. Tamika & Friends hosts survivor and advocate delegates from states with the highest rate of cervical cancer deaths. These include Connecticut, Florida, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. This year’s educational event, set on Capitol Hill, is slated to kick off with keynote speaker Representative Debbie Halvorson (D-IL, 11th District).
